Train to be a Lissim teacher

Criteria for admission

Successful applicants will normally have a prior qualification in one of the conventional or complementary health professions.

Course structure

The course will comprise a total of 20 hours of lectures, demonstration and discussion on the topics of the syllabus (details will be available on this website soon), usually over two separate weekends, with study and practical/group work in between.

Trainees will write one essay and present three detailed case studies, including a full report on an initial client consultation and subsequent review.

There will normally be a period of supervised practice with clients before full qualification as a Lissim teacher is granted by the board of examiners of the Lissim Pain Foundation.

The Lissim professional training syllabus is registered with Balens Insurance Brokers, enabling certified Lissim teachers to take out an appropriate insurance policy in order to practise. www.balen.co.uk

The Lissim Pain Foundation is planning to run its next professional training course in autumn-winter 2009-2010. Fees for the professional training course are currently under review.
